I titled this picture To Live Out Loud because it speaks so vibrant and loud of many years past. This Log Cabin sits near Cades Cove in The Great Smoky Mountains and would have been built most likely in the early 1800's.. Back then the worst fear was not eating, but being eaten by the wild bears that roamed the Great Smoky Mountains. This photo was taken on a beautiful October afternoon in 2011 near Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
A log cabin such as the one pictured would not be much larger than the living room of your current home. You would most likely have two, maybe three windows and a door facing south. Add a fireplace, large poster bed, table, shelves for the dishes, a trunk and you would complete the furnishings. Now we bring in the family that would most likely have mom, dad, two or three children and maybe grandma and grandpa. Then an occasional itinerant preacher or other guest.
